Acupressure for Anxiety and Insomnia

Acupressure for Anxiety and Insomnia:

As the COVID-19 pandemic spreads like wildfire across the globe, we repeatedly hear to stay calm and take care of ourselves to keep our immune systems healthy. For many, this is hard to do since in the blink of an eye we’ve had to drastically change the way we live, work, and interact. Unsure when life will return to a semblance of “normal.”

The top two complaints I’ve been hearing are that people are anxious and have insomnia. So I’m sharing two of my favorite acupuncture points to help relieve the feelings of anxiety and promote peaceful sleep. You can do acupressure on the points below by gently massaging them for 3-5 minutes several times per day and especially before bedtime.

Pericardium 6 for Anxiety:

Helps with anxiety, irritability, palpitations, tightness of the chest, and nausea.

Anmian for Insomnia:

This points name means "peaceful sleep." It's great for insomnia, restless sleep, and monkey mind that won't turn off.

Doing a few small self-care things everyday like acupressure can help you keep you stay calm during this rapidly changing time.
