BENEFITS OF HOLISTIC PREPARATION FOR IUI/IVF:
1—Prepare the body
ART taxes the body both physically and mentally. Your body needs the resources and ability to respond effectively to the ovarian stimulation caused by fertility medications. Our comprehensive holistic approach prepares your body before, during, and after the cycle. Priming your body to respond to medications, helping you effectively manage stress and anxiety during the cycle, and supporting your overall health too. This enhances the IUI/IVF cycle and can result in better fertilization rates, higher pregnancy rates, and lower miscarriage rates (individual results vary). Make sure your body is ready to go.
2—Maximum Response, Minimum Side-Effects
We know how to fit into your care without interfering with the cycle. We understand the procedures, protocols, medications, details, and scheduling of a medicated cycle. Throughout the cycle, we strategically provide researched acupuncture techniques to maximize your chances of good ovarian response and a positive outcome. At the same time minimizing potential unwanted side-effect from fertility medications such as bloating, constipation, headaches, fatigue, night sweats and moodiness. There is a reason local doctors refer to us.
3—Reduce Stress
ART is a physically focused process and often emotional well-being is overlooked. Stress can be sky high and you want someone in your corner who understands. Our holistic therapies help reconnect your mind and body so you can have a vital and balanced body and calm mind throughout the IUI/IVF process, ensuring optimal response and opening the door for a pregnancy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Acupuncture increases circulation to your ovaries and uterus, improves the hormonal communication between your nervous and endocrine systems (HPA axis), and noticeably reduces stress; all of which helps your response to ART treatments and medications.
No, our holistic approach is an integrated one that won’t interfere with advice given by your doctor. We know how to work synergistically with reproductive clinics and protocols.
No. We've had patients come in a month or less before starting their IUI/IVF and have a successful cycle.
In a perfect world, we recommend 3+ months of holistic treatment before IUI/IVF, but this isn’t always feasible, so come in and get started as soon as possible!
Why 3 months? Because three months is the life cycle of a follicle. A little more time for treatment and implementation of lifestyle adjustments supports the health of the maturing follicle, increasing the chances of a successful cycle. Your investment in our holistic therapies will have prepared your body to have maximum response to medicated treatments and minimize unwanted side effects.
Unfortunately, due to the often last minute scheduling and variable timing of transfer treatments, we cannot offer that as a standalone service. We do our best to accommodate requests from our current/established patients and we will discuss optimal schedule timing for acupuncture as IVF/IUI draws closer.
The bottom line is your situation is unique and many factors go into a successful cycle. You will be supported every step of the way. The miracle of conception and pregnancy doesn’t have a fixed timeline.
Yes, when it’s appropriate and fits the case, key supplementation and herbs are recommended. Many women are relieved that we often actually help to shorten the list of supplements they are taking and help take the guesswork out of supplements they’ve read about online.
The use of herbs are discontinued once you start taking fertility medications and injections, but can be safely used in between cycles, with birth control pills, and with clomid/letrozole.
Yes, targeted dietary advice can create shifts in your body that optimize your fertile potential and will be given based on your unique needs.
